Summary Description

The Assistant Director will assist and support the Executive Director of Finance in the successful oversight and operation of all departmental functions and the division's mission, vision and competencies to ensure the accurate and efficient reporting of financial transactions.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in the area of accounting, business, finance, or a closely related field or licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience required, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Management level experience required including directing staff, developing financial reports and analyzing financial data.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
  • Excellent speaking and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create and present ideas and budgets in a variety of formats.
  • Ability to maintain confidential records.
  • Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data with special attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of the philosophy, mission, leadership needs, and planning requirements of the division.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.


Essential Duties

Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Hire, train, and handle discipline and termination of subordinate employees.
  • Assist with or conduct performance evaluations.
  • Knowledgeable in all areas of the finance department.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles as they apply to school divisions.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
  • Communicates with management on behalf of the Executive Director.
  • Acts as a proxy for the Executive Director as needed in his or her absence.
  • Collaborates with the Executive Director to sustain, promote, and grow departmental programs and services.
  • Manage division budgets for regular and special programs and expenses.
  • Provides support in the development of the superintendent's budget.
  • Drafts and maintains policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws.
  • Provides oversight to division reporting and accounting.
  • Ability to use budget forecasting for decision making.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate:

The salary range is $89,400-$150,824

Contract:
Full time / 12 months / 245 days

Start Date:

This position is effective for the 2024-2025 school year. Applicants for the 2025-2026 school year will also be considered.
