Reporting to the Compound Management Lead, the Lab Technician will primarily support the core compound management function essential to our drug discovery efforts. Additional responsibilities include general laboratory operations such as buffer and sample preparation, sample shipping, equipment maintenance, lab organization, and logistics coordination.
This is an onsite role that requires a commitment of 5 days per week, Monday - Friday, at Circle's South San Francisco location. Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.

$32.69 - $45 an hour
The anticipated salary range for an individual hired in South San Francisco, CA is $32.69 to $45.00 per hour. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, education, Circle's internal equity, etc. This compensation and benefits information is based on Circle's good faith estimate as of the date of posting and may be modified in the future.
This position is based in Circle's South San Francisco office and requires regular, daily on-site presence, five (5) days per week, Monday - Friday. Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Chemistry and Biology project teams, external partners, and CROs to ensure smooth operations.
- Arrange and schedule inbound and outbound shipments of samples and materials, working closely with couriers and Shipping/Receiving team.
- Utilize liquid handling equipment and sample management systems to streamline compound management from registration to request fulfillment.
- Follow and monitor quality control procedures to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the compound inventory.
- Handle and store hazardous chemicals in compliance with EHS, OSHA, and company safety guidelines.
- Perform routine lab tasks including buffer and sample preparation, equipment maintenance, lab organization, and hazardous waste management.
- Ensure responsibilities are conducted in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Experience and Skills Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in chemical, biological or medical sciences preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in a laboratory setting; 1+ years of industry experience preferred.
- Familiarity with operating, programming, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, including pipettes, balances, and laboratory automation.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
- Working knowledge of data management systems: file sharing services (SharePoint/Teams), inventory systems, and electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Exceptional organizational skills, data management, problem-solving, decision-making, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality customer support and professionalism.
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing deadlines and prioritizing tasks from multiple projects.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
