Responsibilities

Your Role:

The Director, Operations reports to the VP Operations and is responsible for the direction, planning and execution of manufacturing operations in multiple plant locations. This individual is responsible for creating the structure and processes necessary to manage the organization's current activities and projected growth, and for providing enthusiastic leadership to shape employee attitudes and morale. This position will take the lead in implementing innovative, cross-functional strategic initiatives via the use of Lean and Lean Six Sigma principles, project and change management tools and techniques, learning and development methodologies and other continuous improvement efforts.   • Develop a World Class operations team, to include provide mentoring, rigorous development planning for team and succession planning for the operations organization.
  • Drive best practices in all areas of responsibility.
  • Serve as both a manager and leader by recognizing what talent is needed, making decisions and developing talent to the highest.
  • Lead the organization to hold everyone to a higher level of accountability.
  • Provide direction and implementation of Lean Manufacturing concepts and techniques.
  • Establish management practices that foster a positive, safe work environment, promotes high morale throughout the organization and encourages teamwork.
  • Accountable for all Key Performance Indicators in Safety, Quality, Productivity and Profitability areas.
  • Facilitate strong and consistent communication between and amongst functional departments with respect and integrity.
  • Manage budgets and establish cost controls.
  • Meet metrics and benchmarks for operational personnel; monitor key performance indicators and coach personnel accordingly.
  • Manage the retention and development of a high-performance workforce.
  • Oversee learning efforts focused on skill development, technical training, and business tools.

Qualifications

We need you to have:
  • BA/BS in Engineering, Business, Operations or related field.
  • 12+ years of professional progressive experience in plant operations roles. Particular experience as a senior operations leader within a multi-site organization with a successful track record of managing and growing operations to deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prior team management experience combined with a proven track record of developing, coaching and mentoring a diverse staff.
  • Solid business acumen experience with a strong understanding of the P&L, annual budget, capital projects, productivity improvement initiatives, metrics development and maintenance.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and challenge a diverse group of managers and leaders to achieve/exceed performance expectations.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • A commitment to excellence and continuous improvement with experience in various Continuous improvement Processes and initiatives (i.e. 5S, Value Streams, Six Sigma, TPM)
  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
  • Must be team-oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.


Icing on the cake:
  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Proficient in SAP or Oracle.

Salary Range

USD $190,000.00 - USD $200,000.00 /A

Bonus Eligibility

Role is eligible for 25% annual incentive provided the business meets financial goals and the individual meets their performance goals, subject to plan administration guidelines.
