Job Summary
To lead construction operations in executing the delivery of safe, reliable, efficient natural gas distribution service in a state operation with a blanket capital budget of $45M - $200M annually, reporting to the state VP/GM. Assumes overall responsibility for compliance with Federal and State regulations, as well as best industry practices. Drives excellence through continuous improvement in all aspects of construction operations. As a member of the operations management team, leads the implementation and execution of operational initiatives, building consistency and collaboration across the organization. Provides direction, clarity, coaching and performance management to a team of front-line leaders, contractors, and field employees to ensure the highest level and quality of customer service at the lowest cost.

Essential Functions

  • Support a collaborative environment as part of the management team.
  • Establishes a culture of safety for internal and contracted employees.
  • Ensures pipeline facilities are installed in compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
  • Coaches and develops front-line leader performance, supporting and holding them accountable through effective performance management (i.e., establishing performance standards, driving accountability, coaching performance and development, effectively delegating, providing feedback, and recognizing and rewarding results).
  • Leads the identification, planning, development and implementation of change initiatives, to increase operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Promotes collaboration and consistency throughout operations.
  • Manages towards aggressive financial, safety, and operational goals by partnering with Field Operations, Engineering and other Technical Operations functions.
  • Leads and manages capital construction, improving capital spending efficiency and return on invested capital.
  • Leads implementation of construction strategies.
  • Collaborates with key business partners to ensure alignment and execution on all key metrics


Required Qualifications For Position
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of leadership experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction operations and construction policies, programs and practices.
  • Demonstrated strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various individuals and functions across the organization.
  • Understanding of budgeting processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction contracts, including both the Units, and T&E
  • Broad familiarity with PC applications
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated ability to provide oversight, leadership and direction in the overall management of construction.
  • Familiarity with Capital and O&M budgeting processes.
  • Understanding of budgeting processes.
  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Upon Hire


Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
  • Hands on construction inspection experience.
  • Experience working with pipeline contractors.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI Upon Hire

Salary Range*:
$129,500.00 - $194,300.00

*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience , as well as internal pay equity .
