The Field Service Specialist is a remote position that reports to the Service Manager and provides onsite and remote technical/engineering assistance, time sensitive emergent repairs, corrective maintenance, material on the RENK Industrial and Marine Gears, located throught the US and North America.

Job Description:
The Field Service Specialist is a remote position that reports to the Service Manager and provides onsite and remote technical/engineering assistance, time sensitive emergent repairs, corrective maintenance, material on the RENK Industrial and Marine Gears, located throught the US and North America.
Essential Functions:
- Perform equipment fault diagnosis, assessment and repair.
- Perform scheduled maintenance services.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulically and controlling tasks, including repair, maintenance, commissioning, assembly work, installation checks, (inner and outer) alignment checks, setting tooth contact, electrical signal checks, troubleshoot and repair.
- Document Service order execution in the Customer Relations Management (CRM) system.
- Create Service reports and modify/correct as needed.
- Maintain tool inventory and equipment calibration.
- Attend customer technical review meetings as requested.
- Attend vendor sites for technical/commercial clarification as requested.
Position Requirements
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree with 8+ years relevant experience
- Bachelors Degree with 6+ years relevant experience
- Minimum education and years of experience requirements are not to be used exclusive of other leveling factors. Substitution of additional relevant education and experience for stated qualifications may be considered.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience with the assembly, test, troubleshooting, maintenance and/or repair of Gear systems or other similar equipment is required.
- Other heavy equipment maintenance experience will also be considered.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work well with internal and external customers representatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Must be willing to travel, both within CONUS.
- Must be able to move freely without accommodation throughout the product service environment.
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Must be able to multi-task, think quickly, and work independently
- Demonstrate a high level of decision-making skills, problem-solving skills, and professionalism.
- Strong self-motivation and inter-personal skills; Maintain a positive "can-do" attitude.
- Displays excellent prioritization skills in order to assure timely completion of tasks.
- Possess a high level of honesty, reliability, tactfulness, and confidentiality.
- Basic knowledge of mechanics; hydraulics; transmission and gear drive parts such as gears, housings, seals, clutches, and shafts; knowledge of performance parameters such as speed, RPM, torque, power and gear ratios.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience in handling high torque hydraulic tools, torque wrenches, rigging devises, crane etc.
- Experience in handling of measuring equipment as in- outside micrometers, line bore gauges, laser alignment tools, vibration measuring tools.
- Handling of electrical measuring devises for repair and troubleshoot, parts swap or modifications on the electrical system.
- Manufacturing experience, including assembly and testing of large gear drive systems.
