Description:

The Sr Manager, People & Culture for Gilbarco-Veeder Root provides Strategy People & Culture (P&C) leadership and expertise to business leaders on people-related matters affecting the business. This role will be responsible for leading a team of People & Culture professionals, including an on-site Employee Relations Partner, Labor Relations Partner, P&C Business Partner, and P&C Coordinator. The Sr Manager, P&C will play a crucial role as a P&C business partner to the leadership staff, managing employee relations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and fostering a positive work environment for our 600-700 bargaining unit employees and 200 non-bargained staff. This position will report directly to the Director, People & Culture - Labor Relations.

The Sr Manager, People & Culture adds value by partnering with business clients to provide innovative P&C solutions focused on driving success and achieving business objectives. This position will be based onsite at Gilbarco Veeder-Root's corporate headquarters in Greensboro, NC, supporting the Operations function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement P&C strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Operate as a business partner, understanding the organizations strategies, goals, objectives, and financial performance. Provide expertise and guidance on workforce planning, talent management, performance management, and organizational design.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing P&C team to support the site's P&C needs.
  • Oversee employee relations strategies and initiatives to promote a positive work culture.
  • Provides leadership and counsel to management on Employee Relations issues. Leads the organization through difficult employee relations activities and investigations.
  • Manage union relationships and act as a Company representative in grievances, Piedmont Grievance Committee, and negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Review and update P&C policies and procedures to ensure alignment with best practices and legal requirements.
  • Lead and drive change management activities.
  • Develop and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) and trend. Develop countermeasures and action plans to drive continuous improvement in P&C practices.
  • Support talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention initiatives to build a skilled workforce.
  • Drive performance management and employee development programs.
  • Identify and develop training programs for staff development.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the organization.
  • Ensure the reliability and security of employee data.
  • Assure awareness of the significant environmental aspects and environmental compliance obligations of your operations and ensure controls are in place.

Qualifications:

Background and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR Certification a plus.
  • 7+ years of progressive P&C experience, with a focus in capacities of P&C business partner, employee relations, and labor relations within a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Proven experience managing and developing P&C teams.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and best practices in P&C management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of P&C principles, practices, and employment laws at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Proven experience in talent management, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in using P&C metrics to drive decision-making.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in change management and organizational development is a plus.
