Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG Nebraska) is an in-school elective credit class empowering students in grades 7-12 to achieve success in high school graduation, further education, and employment following high school graduation. JAG Nebraska Program Managers are responsible for leading a team of in-class Career Specialists to fully implement the JAG Nebraska model, ensure program goals are achieved, build relationships with school districts and community leaders, and support the mission of the United Way of the Midlands.

Position Summary:
Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG Nebraska) is an in-school elective credit class empowering students in grades 7-12 to achieve success in high school graduation, further education, and employment following high school graduation. JAG Nebraska Program Managers are responsible for leading a team of in-class Career Specialists to fully implement the JAG Nebraska model, ensure program goals are achieved, build relationships with school districts and community leaders, and support the mission of the United Way of the Midlands.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures the JAG Advantage (Project Based Learning, Trauma Informed Care, and Employer Engagement) is implemented with integrity within each program.
- Provides coaching, mentoring, and feedback to JAG Nebraska Career Specialists.
- Travels to program sites monthly to engage in meaningful relationship-building with students, JAG Career Specialists, and school administrators.
- Conducts annual meetings with the district administration in collaboration with JAG Career Specialists to review program successes and to learn of and align with upcoming district and school goals.
- Assists JAG Career Specialists' school and district administration as needed regarding student recruitment.
- Communicates professionally and timely to maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, community leaders, business partners, and JAG Nebraska leadership.
- Ensures evidence-based classroom management techniques are utilized in each JAG classroom.
- Reviews, analyzes and assesses program performance outcomes by utilizing the data in JAG Force monthly.
- Reviews, assesses and attends employer engagement activities to ensure one hands-on engagement is provided in each CTE sector per program per school year.
- Collaborates with the UWM VP, Program Development to plan and coordinate employer engagement experiences to remove gaps in services for employer engagement.
- Ensures strategic and meaningful partnerships with local United Way chapters per program.
- Attends and assists in planning and implementation of national, statewide, and regional student and staff events and training, including facilitation of event planning committees as assigned.
- Hosts team meetings with JAG Career Specialists to share information, learn team needs, and receive feedback.
- Meets one one-on-one with JAG Career Specialists a minimum of once per month to provide support as needed.
- Recruits, interviews, and hires for JAG Nebraska Career Specialist positions according to the requirements of the position and in collaboration with each school district's administration.
- Coordinates with the JAG Regional Director and the UWM Director, Communication regarding local media and press requests or engagements.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
- Effectively implements curriculum, projects, and/or other educational opportunities consistent with the goals of the JAG and the Nebraska Department of Education requirements for Career and Technical Education.
- Substitute teaches for Career Specialists as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Travels to UWM a minimum of once per month to attend JAG leadership events.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Builds, leads, and mentors a team of fundraising, volunteer, and marketing professionals, both internal and external.
- Interviews, hires, and trains staff in the department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Completes performance evaluations and formal classroom observations for JAG Career Specialists according to United Way of the Midlands policy.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Required to work 12 months per year.
- Must comply with school staff handbook, policies, standards, and expectations as applicable.
- Must be able to effectively use Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
- Must be knowledgeable about human services.
- Must have a good understanding of philanthropy and the role non-profit organizations play in our community.
- Must have the ability to effectively represent UWM and JAG Nebraska during community and stakeholder meetings.
- Must be highly organized, responsive and able to handle multiple deliverables at the same time.
- Must maintain a positive attitude and care deeply about the overall success of UWM and JAG Nebraska.
- Must establish appropriate boundaries while developing and maintaining positive relationships.
- Must communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a variety of individuals, within and outside of the school system.
- Must be able and willing to follow chain of command and organizational policies and values.
- Must possess a current and valid driver's license.
- Driving is an essential function of this position.
Education and Experience:
- Accredited Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in relevant field preferred. Must possess 3-5 years relevant prior experience successfully leading a decentralized team.
- Within the first 90 days of employment, must meet the Nebraska Department of Education's Teaching Career Education Permit requirements.
- Must be willing to complete the Human Relations Training Requirement upon hire (if needed) as determined by NDE, and be willing to obtain the State of Nebraska Fingerprint Card Process (if applicable).
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
