JOB SUMMARY:
The Systems and Network Administrator works under the supervision of the Technology Coordinator to assist in managing the daily operations of the district's computer infrastructure and networks. As a primary member of the technical support team, this position provides operational support to administrators, staff, and students in the areas of desktop management, email, network management and maintenance, virtualized server administration and management, application support and development, and phone maintenance.

Knowledge of: current principles and practices of instructional computing technology and their applications in an educational environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to: communicate effectively with users with different areas and levels of technical expertise. Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage time and multiple priorities with attention to detail. Skills in making effective presentations to groups with a range of technology skills and abilities.
Experience:
Previous experience in integrating technology into instruction.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate or four year degree in a related field preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Manage Windows Servers and Active Directory administration, SCCM, folder redirection, and account management. GPO administration. Troubleshoot and diagnose Windows network problems district-wide servers and client systems. Lead the daily operations of the district central computer services. Telephone Services: Assist in the design and implementation of district Asterisk phone system to include configuration of phones, management of accounts and troubleshooting phone system problems. Administer creation of new accounts, account repairs, configuration of profiles and other end-user issues Helpdesk Support: Either directly or via remote access, troubleshoot reported systems problems. Administer Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager OS and Application software management: Build base imaging solutions for rapid cloning of workstations. Upgrade system deployable applications Patch management: creation/deployment of Microsoft and 3rd party OS/Software patches/updates. Hardware/Software Inventory management. Virtual Environment Management Testing and troubleshooting of deployed solutions. Assist in the purchase, management and distribution of software licenses. Technical Documentation Document system changes as needed. Produce system support documentation for staff and students. Possess and practice strong interpersonal skills with a wide variety of people both inside and outside the organization (staff, parents, community members, other agencies) Be a positive team builder who works in a collaborative manner. Meet multiple demands in pressure situations and maintain high levels of quality work. Maintain confidentiality. Communicate clearly, orally and in writing. Regularly demonstrate professionalism in appearance, actions, decisions, and overall performance Work with minimal supervision and be flexible.

Language Skills: Ability to read English and comprehend complex technical language and follow documented technical processes. Ability to write memos and correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations with a high degree of accuracy.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to carry out detailed, written, or oral instructions in English. Ability to research and deduce solutions to technical problems involving new or unfamiliar technologies.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to work collaboratively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisor(s), staff, students, parents, and community. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee may be required to sit at a desk and use a computer for long periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Works in an educational environment. Able to use a telephone, operate a computer, and use other office equipment. Ability to drive to other program sites and meetings.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve-month period with vacation time as established. Performance will be evaluated in accordance with board policy on evaluation of CSPT personnel.
CLASSIFICATION/LOCATION: CSPT, Full Time at District Office
CALENDAR: 8 hours per day, 260 day contract.
SALARY/BENEFITS:
Salary Range $78,979- $104,000
Newberg School District pays 6% PERS contribution provides a generous insurance cap and long-term disability insurance. Optional Life, AD&D insurance, Short Term Disability, Tax Shelter Annuities, Section 125 health and dependent care accounts, and Employee Assistance Program through Uprise Behavioral Health also available to all staff.
