Job Title: MRI Technologist
Job Specialty: MRI Imaging
Job Duration: Full-time
Shift: Sunday 8:30 am-4:00 pm, Monday/Tuesday 1:30 pm-10:00 pm, Wednesday/Thursday 2:30 pm-11:00 pm
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days of 8-hour shifts
Experience: Previous MRI imaging experience
License: Current registration as ARRT(MR)
Certifications: MRI certification required, BLS certification
Must-Have: Strong communication and customer service skills, IV proficiency, computer proficiency including PACS and RIS

Job Description:
- Responsible for the care and safety of patients in the magnetic environment.
- Performs high-quality imaging consistent with the ordered exam.
- Assesses the patient's condition during the exam and notifies the Radiologist of any changes.
- Utilizes contrast material judiciously.
- Understands the proper use of all equipment pertinent to the MRI department.
- Works under the direction of a Radiologist.
- Completes all aspects of film archival prior to Radiologist review.
- Communicates with Radiologists, front desk staff, and other departments.
- Reports equipment problems to the MRI Chief Technologist.
- Completes all documentation and paperwork as required.
- Maintains the upkeep of the reading room and workstations.
- Acts as a preceptor for new employees.
- Trains students, interns, and externs as needed.
- Provides basic patient education skills.
- Supports strategic development of MRI services to meet changing customer needs and ensure growth.
- Works in accordance with standards and protocols, state and federal regulations.
- Complies with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with patient quality standards for all age groups.
- Keeps abreast of the latest trends in MRI.
- Assists in the evaluation of new imaging equipment as needed.
- Maintains standards of performance.
- Interacts professionally with patients, vendors, coworkers, and medical staff.
- Promotes service excellence.
