We are currently seeking a Sr. CAD Engineer, Interior, Instrument Panel. This position requires an experienced professional with the ability to work with one of the most passionate engineers of a global team. Responsibilities:
Utilize CAD methodologies to create release part files, work on A-surface models, and apply knowledge-based engineering in Catia V6
Develop and design interior Door Trim components on premium Lucid vehicles
Recommend effective part interfaces from the industry that meet craftsmanship targets and benefit the customer for affordable costs
Interface with engineers from full design phase from the first sketch to the final component release and into production validation on vehicles
Ensure all geometric, technical, and validation requirements for each milestone delivery are analyzed and met, analyzing and iterating improvements as applicable for changing markets
Interface with design studio, vehicle packaging, advanced engineering, manufacturing, simulation and dimensional teams to develop optimal design solutions
Maintain bill of materials and provide pathways of cost down potentials and manufacturing improvements
Interface with Crash Safety team to ensure the design is meeting with the homologation requirements

Qualifications:
8+ years of demonstrated experience as a detail-oriented CAD engineer in Interior Components and Systems, including applications on Interior Door Trim panels
Experience creating complex CAD models in CATIA V6 quickly and efficiently while holding CAD part, tree, links & publications to an excellent standard
Proven experience in geometrical dimensioning and tolerance in detail through applying tolerance targets into component locators, attachment methods and overall gap and flushness requirements
Knowledge and understanding of automotive Interior Components and Systems industry benchmark, trends and supplier competencies
Vehicle and product launch experience
Proven experience in interior process, such as wrapping, injection molding, painting, compression molding and other state of the art manufacturing processes
Proven experience in selection of polymers for the design of the interior components
Strong in engineering fundamentals to create solutions that are not yet state of the art
Experience in mold flow simulations

Work ethic that results in overall best solutions even when required in continuous changing and high-pressure situations
One full program cycle experience from concept to production launch in automotive instrument panels
Experienced in modal analysis, finite element method analysis and computer fluid dynamics
Ability to work on a cross-functional working team of different cultures and nationalities
A second language of Spanish or German

Education Requirements:
Engineering or Design Degree
Fluent English including technical engineering terminology
