Job Summary:

The Engineering Team Lead will work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment responsible for designing building systems and producing construction documentation for institutional projects in the higher education, government and private sector markets. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong leadership skills to be part of our firm.

Duties:
  • Lead project execution with a multi-disciplined team of engineers and designers.
  • Facilitate communication between clients and project teams.
  • Control project scope and coordinate concerns and changes with clients and company leadership.
  • Organize and lead weekly internal meetings to define plans of action for all projects through to completion.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on technical and project management issues.
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive business growth and increase profitability.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities through market research and analysis.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by understanding their needs.
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reporting to the management team.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
  • Personnel Management: Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new team members. Ensure that staffing levels are maintained to meet project demands.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and set development goals for team members. Utilize feedback from coworkers and subordinates to provide a comprehensive evaluation.
  • Staff Development: Identify training and development needs for team members and provide opportunities for professional growth. Encourage continuous learning through various knowledge sources such as online videos, one-on-one training, and corporate training platforms.


Skills:
  • Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work.
  • Proficient in Revit and MS Office suite of software.
  • Ability to technically mentor engineers with less experience.
  • Confident and ambitious problem solver.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge in mechanical engineering.
  • Effective at handling complex projects and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple team members.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years' mechanical design experience
  • Licensure in North Carolina as a Professional Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field

Location: Raleigh, NC
Travel: Less than 5% travel, in state, can be expected as part of execution of projects. Less than 1% overnight travel out of state may be expected.
