Job Summary:
The Engineering Team Lead will work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment responsible for designing building systems and producing construction documentation for institutional projects in the higher education, government and private sector markets. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong leadership skills to be part of our firm.

The Engineering Team Lead will work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment responsible for designing building systems and producing construction documentation for institutional projects in the higher education, government and private sector markets. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong leadership skills to be part of our firm.
Duties:
- Lead project execution with a multi-disciplined team of engineers and designers.
- Facilitate communication between clients and project teams.
- Control project scope and coordinate concerns and changes with clients and company leadership.
- Organize and lead weekly internal meetings to define plans of action for all projects through to completion.
- Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on technical and project management issues.
- Develop and execute strategies to drive business growth and increase profitability.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities through market research and analysis.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by understanding their needs.
- Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and reporting to the management team.
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
- Personnel Management: Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new team members. Ensure that staffing levels are maintained to meet project demands.
- Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and set development goals for team members. Utilize feedback from coworkers and subordinates to provide a comprehensive evaluation.
- Staff Development: Identify training and development needs for team members and provide opportunities for professional growth. Encourage continuous learning through various knowledge sources such as online videos, one-on-one training, and corporate training platforms.
Skills:
- Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work.
- Proficient in Revit and MS Office suite of software.
- Ability to technically mentor engineers with less experience.
- Confident and ambitious problem solver.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge in mechanical engineering.
- Effective at handling complex projects and driving strategic initiatives.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple team members.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years' mechanical design experience
- Licensure in North Carolina as a Professional Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
