Position Overview

We have an immediate need for a Technical Project Manager and are currently seeking individuals who are interested in long-term independent contractor engagements (on 1099 status) who would potentially consider full-time, permanent roles with us in the future. Working remotely is an option for this role during the contractor period. However, you will need to be based in the United States and available during East Coast Time Zone working hours.

In this role, you will push progress forward to meet deadlines and liaise with non-technical stakeholders to ensure projects stay on track. You will manage schedules, influence roadmaps, help with team allocations and communicate with key stakeholders and data partners. You will get a chance to work across a multi-disciplinary team of data engineers, product owners, DevOps engineers and data scientists. You will help manage communication with key internal and external data users (our data science teams, web application developers, marketing scientists, etc).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage data technology programs and delivery schedules for our data teams. Elaborate on the scope and range of the project.
  • Help prioritize the tasks and plan resource allocation. Forecast potential resources required for the project.
  • Elaborate on the scope and range of the project. Define milestones and success criteria and successful on-time delivery.
  • Develop tools and processes to improve software engineering productivity.
  • Communicate schedules, priorities, and status to all levels in the company. Reporting on progress to seniors and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Work with Product, Data Engineers and DevOps to help shape a high-quality data products and ensure on time delivery.
  • Assist in planning product development and timelines.

Required Skills
  • 4+ years of project management experience
  • Rigorous planner and organizer. Can keep team members on task and in check and prioritizing tasks as the project progresses, leading multiple teams through the entire lifecycle of the project.
  • Experience with software development and managing end-to-end execution of programs that span multiple engineering teams. Familiarity with technical solutions and methodologies is welcome.
  • Functioning as the main point of contact for all technical teams, great communication in various forms to different stakeholders is critical.
  • Passionate about documentation. Documenting any progress made across all working components of the project, creating reports and systems to achieve the deliveries.
  • Empathetic team player. Ensure team members function to the best of their abilities by keeping them organized and in check.

This role is hybrid, requiring three (3) days per week in the office. The remaining two (2) days may be worked remotely. Specific in-office days will be discussed during the interview process, with flexibility to align with team needs.
