POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled cloud engineer with excellent Azure solutions knowledge, hands-on experience with Azure network technologies, and a deep understanding of Windows OS and Powershell. You will work closely with internal teams to deploy and optimize virtual machines, evaluate and review security posture, and automate infrastructure management. This position is primarily based in our San Luis Obispo office, with the possibility for flexible remote work arrangements depending on the needs of the role and the candidate's experience.

POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled cloud engineer with excellent Azure solutions knowledge, hands-on experience with Azure network technologies, and a deep understanding of Windows OS and Powershell. You will work closely with internal teams to deploy and optimize virtual machines, evaluate and review security posture, and automate infrastructure management. This position is primarily based in our San Luis Obispo office, with the possibility for flexible remote work arrangements depending on the needs of the role and the candidate's experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cloud Architecture
- Design and implement secure cloud networking solutions in Azure including VPCs, NSGs, VPN gateways, and WAFs.
- Ability to template deploy Azure virtual machines underpinned by a hybrid Active Directory domain.
- Administer IAM and maintain strict access controls around Azure resources.
- Automate monitoring, alerting and log output from various Azure systems.
- Configure SSO into various 3rd party federated services.
Infrastructure Automation
- Utilize PowerShell, Bash to automate infrastructure deployment and security policies.
Monitoring & Incident Response
- Implement and manage SIEM solutions (Microsoft Sentinel) for real-time threat detection and response.
Hybrid Cloud Connectivity
- Deploy and optimize Azure ExpressRoute, Azure Gateways, IP-Sec VPNs, and SD-WAN for seamless cloud and on-premises integration.
Enterprise IT Support
- Provide Tier 3 support for cloud, network, and security-related issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work with internal teams to improve security posture, optimize cloud resources, and maintain system documentation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Advanced Networking, Sonicwall SNSA, CISSP, CCNP Security
- Experience with compliance audits and IT governance frameworks
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and container security best practices
- Expertise in Azure and AWS networking and security tools
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, mLAG, VLANs, DNS, BGP, SD-WAN, Zero Trust)
- Experience with firewalls (Sonicwall, PFSense, Palo Alto), VPN Tunnels, traffic monitoring.
- Experience with IAM, SSO and identity security solutions (Azure AD/Entra ID, AWS IAM, Google IAM)
- Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) and DevSecOps methodologies
- Knowledge of SIEM/SOAR solutions for security monitoring and incident response
- Ability to troubleshoot complex hybrid cloud virtual machine issues and optimize performance
