Key Project Requirements:
15+ years of EPC project management experience in large-scale power generation projects.
Expertise in coal-to-gas conversions, steam cycle modifications, and BOP upgrades.
Must have experience managing EPC contracts, large-scale budgets, and contractor performance.
Proven ability to lead large teams, drive project schedules, and resolve on-site challenges.
Strong understanding of power plant safety regulations, permitting, and environmental compliance.
Job Summary:
PIC Group is seeking an experienced Project Reporting Engineer to lead the conversion of a 2,700 MW coal-fired power plant to a natural gas-fired facility. This $1+ billion CAPEX project involves retrofitting steam boilers, upgrading steam turbines, modifying balance-of-plant (BOP) systems, and integrating natural gas infrastructure. They are responsible for overseeing and managing project data collection, analysis, and reporting for the transition of power generation from coal to natural gas. This role ensures accurate monitoring of project milestones, risks, budgets, and regulatory compliance while providing key stakeholders with critical insights to support decision-making. The position requires close collaboration with engineering, construction, environmental compliance, and operations teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and manage project reporting frameworks, dashboards, and performance tracking tools.
Oversee project progress tracking, ensuring accurate documentation of milestones, delays, and risks.
Prepare and distribute weekly/monthly progress reports, including updates on schedule, cost performance, and key risks.
Implement earned value management (EVM) principles to assess schedule and cost variances.
Work closely with finance, scheduling, and procurement teams to ensure alignment between budget forecasts and actual expenditures.
Ensure compliance with reporting standards and contract requirements, tracking deliverables against EPC agreements.
Conduct trend analysis, cost forecasting, and variance analysis to support executive decision-making.
Act as the primary point of contact for project reporting, supporting audits, regulatory filings, and stakeholder updates.
Job Requirements:
Proven expertise in project reporting, data analytics, and cost performance tracking.
Experience managing large-scale construction or power generation projects from a reporting perspective.
Proficiency in earned value management (EVM), cost forecasting, and risk analysis.
Strong ability to synthesize complex project data into clear, executive-level reports.
Familiarity with EPC contract reporting requirements, compliance tracking, and regulatory documentation.
Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Power BI, SAP, and Procore for data visualization and reporting.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with executive leadership and project stakeholders.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for prolonged periods and perform computer work daily.
Ability to walk job sites and ascend/descend ladders/stairs as needed.
Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business Analytics, or a related field (required); Master's degree preferred.
PMP certification and/or Professional Engineer (PE) License (preferred).
15+ years of experience in project reporting, data analytics, or project controls within EPC, power generation, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
