General position summary:

The Finance Manager directs Suddath International's billing, accounts payable, and general ledger accounting teams. Manages the design and development of measures as a means to evaluating performance results, both financial and process oriented. Oversees the monthly accounting and book-close process to assure accurate results in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Monitors and maintains process and internal control documentation in support of annual audits.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage accurate and timely monthly book-close process including analytical review and variance explanation, and review and approval of balance sheet reconciliations ensuring timely follow-up by the accounting team to resolve all reconciling items.
  • Oversees the transactional accounting teams such as the billing and payables teams, including hiring, objective setting, performance management and training.
  • Identify and create new processes to improve the workflows of direct reports and other functional groups within Suddath International.
  • Develop and implement financial plans, budget, and forecasts; conduct financial analysis to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Provides support, direction, and review of financial data to the VP, Move Management.
  • Provides monthly financial performance results to the Executive Leadership team.
  • Preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP as a foundation for the annual financial statement audit.
  • Coordinates the completion of required support for the annual audits as required.
  • Teams with other functional groups within Suddath International to analyze operational issues that affect the company's service delivery, as well as financial results (i.e., cost efficiency, revenue generation, etc...).
  • Provides ad hoc financial reports and analyses as requested.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting; MBA and/or CPA preferred, or commensurate work experience.
  • Five to seven years of experience with progressive finance and accounting responsibility.
  • Experience with financial modeling.
  • Experience in relocation or closely related industry (real estate, mortgage, property management, etc...) preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with Great Plains accounting software preferred.
  • Experience with payroll operations, preferably in relocation industry
  • Ability to learn new payroll/relocation software as needed
  • Ability to interpret changes in processes required to gain maximum efficiency
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills required, ability to manage in all directions
  • Ability to multi-task and organize workflow to meet deadlines and prioritize work
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Organizational and analytical skills


Travel:
  • Less than 10% travel required.


Language Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Computer Operations:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
