Job Description:
- Supervises Psychology Assistant positions, including performance evaluations, scheduling/timekeeping, training, and disciplinary action.
- Evaluates, authorizes, and ensures that plans, programs, treatments, therapies, and testing for residents comply with professional and regulatory standards.
- Develops and implements treatment programs for residents based on diagnoses, interactions/interviews, data analysis, recommendations of interdisciplinary teams, and personal history.
- Conducts individual and group counseling sessions.
- Serves as the chairperson of the Human Rights Committee, reviewing and authorizing requests for restrictive measure usage, ensuring they are appropriate and humane.
- Conducts routine psychological evaluations, reports results to interdisciplinary teams, and writes portions of Individual Service Plans, including personal growth strategies and psychological histories.
- Assesses individuals for suicide precautions and determines when such precautions should end.
- Participates in psychiatric drug reviews, admission/discharge meetings, and technical assistance meetings, providing input to team members.
- Evaluates individuals for competency, provides results to appropriate parties, and offers subject matter expert testimony.
- Trains staff, including new hire orientation, annual training, and home/individual-specific training.
- Attends conferences and training to maintain professional licensure.
- Oversees the work of psychology interns, providing feedback to educational institutions.
- Provides input for facility and/or departmental policies regarding psychological/behavioral issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
