The Alexa Smart Home team's mission is to make Alexa the easiest way for customers to interact with the world around them. Customers already love using Alexa and we are evolving Alexa into an intelligent companion that helps customers get the most out of the technology in their homes. We are looking for a Sr. Business Development Manager to grow our Alexa Connect Kit (ACK) business by driving technology adoption and business strategy alignment with leading smart device manufacturers.
Key job responsibilities
Your responsibilities include developing the partnership strategy, identifying and onboarding new partners, and fostering strong relationships with CxO level leaders in leading smart device manufacturers to drive growth in the ACK business. Primary responsibilities include:
- Create the device manufacturer partnership strategy ACK
- Identify, negotiate, and manage partnerships across technology, marketing, and go-to-market disciplines
- Manage executive, product, and marketing team relationships with large smart home device manufacturers
- Lead cross-functional teams across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and senior management to execute on the relationship goals
- Be the voice of Alexa Smart Home with smart home developers and other channel partners
A day in the life
You will be the face of our Alexa Connect Kit business with third party partners and will work closely with Alexa Smart Home product, engineering, and business leadership to shape the product and business strategy to take ACK phase of growth.

The Smart Home Business Development Team operates with individual autonomy and ownership, where business development managers are single threaded owner of their partnerships. We are results oriented, take a collaborative approach to the business, and foster a culture of innovation to improve the customer and partner experience.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- 5+ years of professional or military experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Strong presentation, sales, and negotiation skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements
- Experience working with emerging technologies in a sales or partnerships role
- Ability to internalize goals and work independently to create appropriate action plans for those goals
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, innovative, and rapidly evolving industry and business organization
- Demonstrated ability to champion and drive cross-functional initiatives for new technologies
- Exceptional ability to communicate with and influence both technical and non-technical audiences at the C-suite level
- MBA preferred

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
