Job Title
Global Trade Program Manager
As the Global Trade Program Manager, you will serve as a trade compliance strategist, responsible for staying informed of regulatory trade developments, ensuring the organization remains up to date, and providing expert guidance on the most effective solutions in response to regulatory trade matters with a particular focus on global export-controls.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Continuous, real-time monitoring of regulatory and legislative trade activity of the U.S., Japan, South Korea, Netherlands, and other countries where CoorsTek has operations and key customers.
- Read, study, and track all available resources related to the regulatory landscape, e.g., government websites, websites and blogs of trade organizations and law firms, industry trade journals, industry commercial news, paid and public information sources.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge and understanding of the CoorsTek organizational structure and company's materials, products, services, and technologies
- Develop and maintain working knowledge and understanding of the legal framework and trade policies of various countries where CoorsTek operates or has an interest.
- Maintain expert knowledge of export-control regulations, sanctions, and restrictions on Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment under the U.S. and other governments, e.g., U.S. EAR, Japan METI Ministerial Ordinance
- Research prospective changes in government legislation for impact to CoorsTek including Notices of Proposed Rule Making (NPRMs) and official publications by government agencies; analyze information for compliance risk and business risk
- Engage and collaborate with various level internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders
- Organize and/or attend scheduled meetings with business unit leaders to share insights and trends on global export-controls and strategize with them
- Preemptively inform and advise internal stakeholders of potential regulatory concerns for their informed decision making
- Alert applicable internal stakeholders of proposed regulatory actions and impact to CoorsTek and/or its customers
- Timely notice and update to ELT, Business Unit leaders, and other internal stakeholders on final rules and regulations
- Develop and present visuals to showcase impacts and risks of the regulations and provide options and solutions to the business
- Communicate with regulatory agencies to advocate for the business, request clarification, comment on proposed rules
- Provide regular updates and relevant news to GT Director and GT Managers on export-controls, sanctions, and import compliance
- Work with GT Director and GT Managers to corroborate on necessary compliance policies, procedures, and requirements
- Build productive internal relationships with the Legal function to include Government Affairs, General Counsel, and other functional members of the Legal department.
Job Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Business, or related discipline.
- Industry recognized certification or license (e.g., Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO), U.S. Licensed Customs Broker).
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years' experience in export-controls, sanctions, multilateral regimes; majority of this time should be in global export-controls
- Expertise in U.S. and non-U.S. export-control laws and regulations, sanctions, and restrictions, including but not limited to the U.S. Export Control Reform Act of 2018, Arms Export Control Act, OFAC; Japan Export Trade Control Order and Foreign Exchange Order; South Korea Foreign Trade Act; Netherlands Strategic Goods Decree
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Exceptionally strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Adept at reading and interpreting regulations
- Skillful at communicating complex regulations to Business colleagues in a simple non-regulatory vernacular
- Effective at communicating with regulatory officials regarding proposed or current rules and regulations.
- High level analytical ability to evaluate problems and determine the best solution for particular situations
- Talented collaborator fostering teamwork, building internal and external relationships
- Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
- Technical savvy in electronics a plus.
