Job Summary:
We are seeking an underwriting auditor with experience in reviewing MGA/MGU Programs for a major insurance carrier who are staffing a newly established Programs division. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive audits of the company's various insurance programs to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. This role involves evaluating the effectiveness of program controls, identifying areas for improvement, and providing recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed audits of insurance programs, including underwriting, claims, and policy administration processes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Identify areas of risk and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate potential issues.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to division management.
- Collaborate with program managers and other stakeholders to implement audit recommendations.
- Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and follow up on outstanding audit issues.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in insurance program auditing.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of audit policies, procedures, and methodologies.
- Participate in special projects and investigations as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CPCU or RPLU is preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in auditing, preferably within the insurance industry.
- Strong understanding of insurance operations, including underwriting, claims, and policy administration.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite
