As Metrologist II you will be responsible for performing and leading the site calibration actives, troubleshooting and scheduling of preventive maintenance and services for the Quality Control Department. Key involvement in problem solving related to measurement outcomes and processes. As well as the training development of Quality Technicians and Quality Inspectors. This person will also be a key contributor in the introduction of new products to the site, Site Production Expansion activities, and ensuring proper handling of the product nonconformance process.
Shift Available: 1st (Monday - Friday / 8 am - 5 pm)

Principal Accountabilities:
- Assure that the analytical equipment is in good working order and that calibration and maintenance activities are executed on schedule.
- Performs basic repair and calibration of test equipment, such as micrometers and calipers, and develops new gauges and testing methods including the design and building of measurement fixtures to meet testing needs.
- Coordinate and perform instrument PM and calibration.
- Management cleanroom certification and conformance.
- Participate in root cause analysis sessions and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Conduct necessary training on analytical instrument operation and maintenance for laboratory personal.
- Responsible for maintaining document traceability analysis of engineering requirements, ISO documents related to part measurement, and training others within department as needed.
- Prepare/revise SOP's, WI's, Quality Plans and Quality Inspection sheets as needed.
- Prepare, review and approve in-house measurement qualification protocols and reports.
- Helps in the identification of the magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to determine reliability of measurement process.
- Train and develop the Quality Inspection personal in new measurements and in company compliance
- Oversee training of QC inspectors, ensuring project assignments are completed to task, development of their training plans and ensure competencies
- Development of complex fixture design for new and current products
- Participation in the recommendation and purchasing of equipment as well as participation in product development activities by assessing and recommending measurement needs and techniques.
- Evaluate and recommend analytical instruments to meet the department's needs.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or High School and equivalent certifications/training in related discipline.
- + 4 years of relevant experience in Metrology.
- Proven experience and knowledge in ISO 9001
- Proven experience and knowledgein Injection Molding equipment and processes
- Attentive to detail, accurate and concise.
- Ability to keep neat and organized records and files.
- Ability to lead and develop others
- Conflict Management experience
- Proficiency in root cause investigations
- Proficiency in material analysis techniques (FTIR, Melt Flow, etc.)
- Experience in gage repeatability and reproducibility evaluation
- High level of technical expertise in Quality Assurance standards and document control.
- Proficiency in Microsoft word, Microsoft excel, and Adobe
- High Proficiency in GD&T
- High Proficiency in measurement techniques as relates to part design and material constraints
- Expertise in vision measurement inspection software
- Advance certifications/skills to create complex programs for measurement equipment and material testing equipment (i.e. CMM, OGP, Vision Systems, Melt Flow and Scanners)
- High Proficiency in CAD software
Physical Requirements:
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently
- Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Usage of arm and / or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than sedentary work and worker sits most of the time, the job is light work.
- Ability to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as; preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and or operation or machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distance close to the eyes.
