Job Title: Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist
Job Specialty: Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 5x8 Hr shifts, 12-15 days of call per month
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Two years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab preferred
License: Registered ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist (RCIS) required within 18 months of hire, or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV specific certification or RCIS or RCES required
Certifications:
- BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
- Fluoroscopy Certification
- Radiation badges to be supplied by the vendor
Must-Have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in English (speak, read, write)
Job Description:
- Provide technical support in the cardiac catheterization laboratory during invasive cardiovascular procedures.
- Assist physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures, acting as a scrub assistant and maintaining sterile conditions during clinical procedures.
- Operate imaging equipment and work in the control room, monitoring and documenting procedure images and events.
- Provide patient care under the supervision of the RN and educate patients and families regarding the procedure and its expectations.
- Teach patients and families about pre- and post-procedure physical conditions.
- Assist in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit and ensure appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures.
- Complete daily, progress, and discharge documentation according to departmental standards and accurately document productivity information.
- Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying potential areas for improvement to enhance patient satisfaction and safety.
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization and adhere to service behavior standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
