SUMMARY
The Senior Financial Analyst - Marketing Support will play a crucial role in providing financial insights and support to the Marketing management team. This position will focus on analyzing and reporting financial data related to advertising spend and analyze effectiveness of channel and market spend decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial acumen, experience working with Marketing, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for cross-functional teams.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data
Conduct in-depth analysis of marketing campaigns and strategies to evaluate their financial effectiveness. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize marketing spend and improve ROI
Liaison between Marketing, Finance, and Accounting ensuring accurate reporting of all aspects of advertising spend and analyze effectiveness of channel and market spend decisions
Challenge impact of decisions that will make spending exceed budget. Alert CMO, CFO, and CEO when there is significant risk to staying within budget.
Test and analyze results through tracking key financial metrics (e.g., ROI, revenue impact, and cost efficiencies) and make recommendations to leaders regarding implementation
Provide financial analysis to support decision-making across all marketing channels (digital, traditional, etc.), ensuring marketing spend is allocated effectively and drives profitable results
Develop reporting related to incremental cost per lead, channel profitability, and market spend performance
Lead the budgeting process for marketing activities, ensuring accurate forecasts and timely adjustments based on performance
Comfortable working with business leaders to improve performance based on financial and operational analysis
Understand the levers of profitability, focusing on metrics that align with profitability goals
Develop interactive visualizations utilizing various reporting components from multiple data sources
Structure projects to have a defined deliverable and definition of success
Communicate analysis results and recommendations in a manner that enables the business sponsor to understand and act on the information
Keep business sponsor informed of progress on projects and analysis
Prepare portions of monthly Board of Directors meeting presentation
Provide ad hoc analysis as requested by senior management
Ensure compliance to Empire financial policies and procedures
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field
4 years' experience in Finance or related field. Supporting Marketing or similar business function a plus
Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and data analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Experience with marketing platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Salesforce, or similar) is a plus
Strong understanding of financial concepts and metrics, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data
Outstanding organizational, analytical, and multi-tasking skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to develop strong relationships at all levels within the Company
Enjoy breaking down complex problems to identify primary drivers
Team player
Highly detail oriented
Ability to manage multiple projects through the project management process
