Senior Advanced Systems Engineer - Tracking Systems Engineer

Scottsdale, AZ

Contract Position

$82.19-$87.19/Hour

This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and deployment of advanced ground-based operational tracking systems in support of space and defense programs.
• Contribute to systems engineering initiatives including architecture definition, requirements analysis, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
• Apply knowledge of satellite tracking systems, modeling and simulation, and payload integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to develop and refine system concepts.
• Support design, integration, and testing efforts for space-based and ground communication platforms.
• Utilize tools such as STK, MATLAB, Python, and CAMEO for modeling, simulation, and analysis.
• Communicate technical solutions effectively to stakeholders, balancing customer needs and project constraints.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related STEM field; Master's degree preferred.
• Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
• Experience:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience (6+ with a Master's degree) in systems engineering, preferably in the defense, space, or aerospace industry.
  • Strong understanding of tracking systems, satellite communications, and ground-to-satellite operations.
• Technical Skills & Tools:
  • Proficiency with MBSE tools such as CAMEO, and modeling environments like STK, MATLAB, or Python.
  • Experience with IRPL modeling, SMART OA systems, and familiarity with aerospace tracking payloads.
  • Background in software integration, simulation, and cloud-based environments is a plus.
• Preferred Experience:
  • Knowledge of Ground Combat Vehicle Architecture (GCIA), SOSA, MOSA, or FACE frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience supporting satellite communications and ground system operations.
  • Agile development experience is a plus.
