Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Job Specialty: Respiratory Care
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day/Night Rotating
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience: Competency in care/treatment of all ages, effective equipment skills, effective communication with patients and colleagues, ability to prioritize daily duties
License: Graduate of an accredited and approved program for Respiratory Care with state licensure
Certifications: BLS (AHA) required, ACLS and NRP preferred
Must-Have: Excellent patient assessment skills, ability to work with diverse cultures, honesty and integrity
Job Description:
- Perform procedures including ventilator management, nebulizer treatments, EKGs, BiPAP/CPAP, and bedside spirometry.
- Utilize equipment such as Drager vents, Respironics BiPAP/CPAP, Smart Vest, Micronebs, Mortara EKG carts, and computerized charting with a Pyxis system.
- Work various shift schedules, including both 8 and 12-hour shifts, with rotating weekends and holidays.
- Provide respiratory care across all departments within the hospital, including Emergency, ICU, Medical-Surgical, Pediatrics, OB, and Family Care.
- Participate in a comprehensive orientation program covering hospital specifics, floor layouts, equipment storage, patient care areas, and department and hospital policies.
- Wear gray scrubs as part of the dress code.
Additional Comments: The successful candidate will be required to work every other weekend and adhere to a rotating holiday schedule. Ensure all necessary certifications and registrations are up to date and uploaded with application materials.
