Financial Analyst - Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

OverviewThe Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team plays a critical role in guiding the company's strategic and operational decisions. By working closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, the team provides financial insights, interprets results, and forecasts future performance. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for an ambitious professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The FP&A Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing financial performance, supporting strategic initiatives, and contributing to high-impact decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quantitative analysis of financial and actuarial data to drive business insights
  • Build financial forecasts for US, Bermuda, and Cayman insurance entities
  • Develop and maintain enterprise-level 3-statement financial models for valuation, operational planning, and strategic decision-marking
  • Manage and enhance financial databases within third party systems, integrating diverse data sources for improved analytics
  • Prepare financial reports and board presentations for senior leadership, regulators, banks, and rating agencies
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyze and evaluate M&A opportunities and business development initiatives, providing data driven recommendations
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support executive decision-making


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Economics, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in finance or accounting within the insurance or financial service industry
  • Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, enterprise resource planning systems, database management (SQL, Oracle), automation (VBA, R, Python), and data visualization tools (Power BI)
  • Ability to recognize inefficiencies in processes and design creative solutions
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management skills to meet strict deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • High level of personal integrity and accountability with a strong work effort
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, high-expectation setting
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
  • Pursuing or willing to pursue CFA, CPA, or advance degrees in business
