Texas Capital's Energy Investment Banking team combines provides a full suite of investment banking services to public and private companies. The team combines investment banking transaction experience with a large technical team of engineers and geologists to advise clients on a full range of corporate transactions across the energy sector, with a focus on energy transition, exploration and production, midstream, power and energy services. The Energy Investment Banking team is actively looking for an Analyst II to help support the Energy coverage team, based in Dallas, Texas.

Job Profile Summary: An Investment Banking Analyst II is an experienced level position within the Investment Banking line of business. This role will report to the Managing Director(s) or Team Leader and will provide support to colleagues in delivering best-in-class experiences and comprehensive financial solutions to clients and prospects across a broad array of products including M&A, Capital Markets and Leveraged Finance.

We are seeking qualified candidates with a passion for a long-term career in Investment Banking, that have extraordinary levels of critical thinking, motivation, and initiative and aspire to deliver superior client service.

Responsibilities:
  • Support senior bankers with day-to-day transaction due diligence and execution
  • Develop fully dynamic 3-statement financial models and other complex models as well as valuation analyses
  • Draft and participate in the presentation of marketing materials, pitch books, confidential offering memoranda and management presentations
  • Develop target marketing lists for potential buyers, investors, and strategic partners
  • Conduct in-depth industry research needed to support and generate opportunities
  • Coordinate internal discussions and schedule transaction discussion meetings
  • Mentor and train junior analysts


Work experience:
  • 2-3 years of investment banking analyst and transaction experience or 2-3 years of energy engineering experience

  • Exceptional writing, interpersonal and communication, presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills - critical thinking, data and information analysis, research, and problem solving

  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint to produce correspondence, models, and presentations
  • Interest in a long-term career in Investment Banking
  • Passion for financial services and delivering superior client experiences


Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business (Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, etc.) or bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical, Petroleum, Mechanical, etc.)
  • Licenses: SIE, 7, 63, & 79 required, or the willingness to test for them within 120 days of hire date
