JOB SUMMARY:

The primary role of the Clinical Application Specialist (CAS) will be to provide in-depth product support, education, training, and advice on the application and use of all Heidelberg Engineering devices. As part of the training process, the CAS will consult with eye care clinics to recommend imaging policies and procedures to optimize workflow and clinic efficiencies as well as troubleshoot with users through software and hardware issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CAS:
  • Provide initial on-site installation, training, and follow-up training on all Heidelberg Engineering devices.
  • Provide support to doctors, photographers, and technicians regarding product inquiries and problem-solve as required.
  • Ensure that the product applications are functioning according to specifications.
  • Understand customers' requirements for their projects/clinical needs and customize training and product specifications accordingly.
  • Support educational program activities including regional and online courses or webinars.
  • Provide technical and demonstration support at trade shows and events.
  • Perform quality check of hardware and software to ensure quality installation. This may entail calibration and computer networking.


Position Requirements

Must be located in the Los Angeles, CA, Irvine, CA or San Diego, CA area.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • BA/BS degree in biomedical imaging, photography (or equivalent education/work experience)
  • 5-10 years ophthalmic photography experience required.
  • Previous training experience required.
  • CRA, or OCT-C certification preferred.
  • Angiography experience required, ICGA experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic instruments and diseases.
  • MS Office operating system, computer hardware, computer configurations, data storage and management, and networking knowledge required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Travel required up to 80%.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • While performing the duties the employee is:
    • constantly required to use computers and other office equipment
    • constantly required to view objects at close and distant ranges
    • frequently required to communicate with others
    • frequently required to sit and stand
  • Requires fine manipulation and simple grasping in order to utilize the computer and other equipment
  • Requires occasional lifting and transporting of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Position requires constant travel to client locations and meetings

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Employee frequently works in a professional office environment and with lots of computer equipment and moderate amounts of noise and activity. Employee constantly required to travel and visit client locations. The work environment is fast-paced and demanding. Off-shift and weekend duties may be required as assigned by manager.
