Join our Community Development team as an Associate Planner, where you'll assist with zoning, development review, long-range planning, and policy initiatives. You'll engage with community members, consultants, and public agencies while contributing to Burnsville's vision for a strong, vibrant community.
This role offers a starting salary of $79,102.40 annually and includes a leading-edge Total Rewards package that supports professional growth in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Communicate with stakeholders about site and project proposals.
Evaluate development applications alongside applicants, consultants, and City staff.
Monitor regional and state planning activities, researching trends in municipal planning.
Assist in administering zoning, subdivision, and city code regulations.
Present recommendations to the Planning Commission.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in planning or a related field.
Two years of planning experience (or equivalent education/experience).
Local government experience preferred.
