Primary Responsibilities
The Supply Chain Operations Systems Manager will drive the implementation, optimization, and integration of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Order Management Systems (OMS) solutions within our distribution operations. This role requires a deep understanding of warehouse automation, order fulfillment processes, and system capabilities to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve inventory accuracy. This position involves cross-functional collaboration, project leadership, and mentoring of system analysts. Essential Functions
DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Implement and optimize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Order Management Systems (OMS) for retail and distribution operations.
- Bring industry best practices to enhance business processes and system capabilities within the food distribution sector.
- Evaluate, design, configure, and test WMS and OMS solutions to meet operational needs and improve efficiency.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in warehouse automation and order management, identifying opportunities for innovation.
- Lead system integration efforts between WMS, OMS, and ERP solutions, ensuring seamless functionality across platforms.
- Provide guidance to system analysts on software development, testing scenarios, and user acceptance testing (UAT) processes.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations teams to enhance receiving, putaway, picking, replenishment, sorting, and shipping workflows.
- Oversee automation implementations, ensuring effective integration with WMS and host systems.
- Analyze large data sets to identify business opportunities, drive process improvements, and enhance supply chain KPIs.
- Manage enterprise projects, including scope definition, success tracking, risk assessment, and contingency planning.
- Foster cross-functional engagement with Sales, Purchasing, and Transportation to improve overall supply chain performance.
- Mentor and coach system analysts, driving change management and process adoption.
- Develop comprehensive business requirement documents and conduct gap analysis for system enhancements.
- Ensure ongoing system stability, data accuracy, and continuous process improvements.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:- Expertise in warehouse automation technologies and integration with WMS solutions.
- Knowledge of supply chain execution software and third-party logistics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data visualization.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact at all organizational levels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Willingness to travel (10-15%) as required.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating leadership and mentorship capabilities.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Experience in WMS and OMS systems implementation within retail or distribution companies.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in WMS and OMS implementation within retail or distribution companies.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse automation technologies and system integration.
- Previous leadership experience (e.g., mentoring system analysts or leading cross-functional projects) is preferred.
