President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Job Summary
Oversees strategy, operations and the growth of the organization. Responsible for guiding the overall direction of the organization, ensuring high quality patient care, compliance with regulations and effective financial management.
Essential Functions:
Provide visionary leadership and direction to ensure the highest standards of patient care, operational efficiency, and organizational sustainability.
Oversees hospice care, palliative care, grief and loss services and assures the delivery of well-managed care and services to the community. Assures and maintains a high quality and professional practice throughout all service areas.
Lead and mentor the Leadership Team to drive operational excellence, optimize performance, and foster a collaborative work environment.
Annually prepares goals for agency operation and presentation to the Board. Reviews, evaluates, and reports on progress in meeting defined goals on a regular basis.
Responsible for strategic plan development and implementation of approved plans for future operation. Proposes and manages capital projects, reviews, and approves new or expanded program services and works to assure appropriate services, sound strategic planning and successful capital projects.
Assures a sound development program and effective marketing and community relations programs and activities to raise awareness of Choices Healthcare services and the organizations impact.
Cultivate strong relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, government agencies, and industry partners.
Represent Choices Healthcare at public events, conferences, and in interactions with stakeholders.
Assures employees an effective program of orientation, training, and ongoing staff education through designated staff.
Assures ongoing staff evaluation, appropriate staff counsel and discipline, and the establishment, maintenance, and confidentially of employee personnel records. Reviews staffing needs and authorizes staffing recommendations; supports appropriate and adequate organizational staffing.
Assures the maintenance of applicable accreditation, certification, and licensing. Recommends and assures the development and implementation of organizational policy including regular reviews, appropriate revisions, and updates. Assures ongoing system of program evaluation through Performance Improvement and Utilization Review plans and activities and maintenance of the agency compliance plan and related activities.
Supports effective and efficient business operations and sound financial management; provides input for the development of the annual budget and reviews and approves the budget. Assures that business operations are well monitored and conducted within the scope of the annual budget.
Drive strategies to increase revenue, manage expenses and maintain optimal cash flow.
Reports regularly to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, serves as ex-officio member of the board, its standing committees and other established committees, and participates or assigns staff to participate in related meetings. Assures the preparation and timely distribution of organizational board and committee minutes and the ongoing maintenance of accurate organization records. Carries out recommended actions of the Board.
Facilitates quarterly staff meetings. Participates as appropriate in national, state, and local organization functions and represents or assures organizational representation and participation at these levels.
Qualifications
Master's degree in business administration, healthcare administration or a related field preferred.
At least ten years of senior leadership experience in hospice, healthcare or a related field with a proven track record of success in managing a complex organization.
Knowledge of hospice regulations, reimbursement models and care delivery standards.
Experience in financial management, strategic planning and organizational management.
Experience with organization growth and expansion.
Must have working knowledge of computer-based programs and have the ability to learn and navigate Choices Healthcare computer system(s).
Must provide own transportation.
Must be able to move about freely in all types of settings which may or may not be handicapped accessible.
Willingness and flexibility to travel to other office locations/service areas as needed to ensure excellence in patient care and organizational operations.
Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
We offer a full range of benefits including:
* Must work a minimum of 64 hours per two week pay period
