Job Title: Sonographer
Job Specialty: High Risk OB Ultrasound
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 08:00 AM-04:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Guaranteed Hours: Full-time (40 hours)

License: [Specify if applicable]
Certifications: BLS
Must-Have: Expertise in ultrasound, especially OB scans
Job Description:
- Ensure two points of patient identification are obtained and that the patient is properly prepared.
- Gather and review relevant patient history, clinical data, test results, and laboratory data.
- Explain the ultrasound examination process to patients, considering their physical and emotional needs.
- Maintain ethical standards, including patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Perform OB scans efficiently and maintain the highest standards of patient care.
- Deliver patient care within the scope of license and training.
- Utilize universal precaution techniques and safety techniques specific to the patient's status.
- Operate all relevant equipment and notify appropriate personnel of any malfunctions or needed repairs.
- Promote collaboration and harmony within the department and maintain effective communication with hospital personnel.
- Complete necessary paperwork and reporting for each patient exam.
- Prepare equipment, room, and supplies needed for examinations and daily operation.
- Stock and supply the room and general department area as needed.
- Oversee and instruct various personnel and technology students within the department.
- Participate in research programs, quality assurance, and quality improvement projects.
- Remain flexible with shift coverage and situations requiring additional hours as necessary.
- Stay informed about advancements in imaging techniques, procedures, and equipment.
- Participate in education programs and fulfill state and national continuing educational credit requirements.
- Transport and transfer patients according to departmental guidelines using established procedures.
- Use independent judgment and initiative under pressure in a variety of situations during patient exams.
- Perform all other directed duties.
Note: This position offers an opportunity to transition to a permanent, full-time role. There is no evening or weekend coverage and no call responsibilities.
