Position Summary:
The Innovation Packaging Engineer at Bonduelle Americas plays a key role in developing and implementing innovative, sustainable, and consumer-friendly packaging solutions that align with the company's growth and sustainability objectives. This position collaborates cross-functionally with Marketing, Product Development, ESG, Operations, and Supply Chain to create forward-thinking, consumer friendly, functional packaging. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver with expertise in packaging design, materials, and sustainability trends in the food and beverage industry.

What will you do:
- Develop and execute packaging innovation projects that enhance product appeal, functionality, and sustainability.
- Research and recommend new packaging technologies, materials, and designs to meet consumer and regulatory demands.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Product Development, ESG, Operations and Supply Chain to bring creative packaging concepts to commercialization.
- Conduct material testing, feasibility studies, and prototyping for new packaging solutions.
- Optimize existing packaging for consumer experience and environmental impact reduction.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sustainability standards, and retailer requirements.
- Work closely with suppliers and external partners to source innovative packaging materials.
- Analyze market trends and consumer insights to develop forward-thinking packaging solutions.
- Support sustainability initiatives, including recyclable, compostable, or reusable packaging development.
- Lead packaging trials and testing at manufacturing facilities to validate new designs and materials.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in packaging development, innovation, or engineering within CPG, food & beverage, or manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials (plastics, paper, compostables, flexible packaging, etc.) and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with packaging design software and prototyping tools.
- Understanding of sustainability initiatives, food safety regulations, and industry trends.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate cross-functionally with different teams.
- Project management skills to execute packaging development initiatives from concept to production
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail.
- Experience working with packaging suppliers, vendors, and co-manufacturers is a plus.
