About the role
As a People Operations Manager, you will be a foundational member of our People team, driving the execution of HR operations, policies, and programs that enhance employee experience and enable our team to thrive. You'll collaborate closely with the leadership team to ensure smooth and effective people operations across the entire employee lifecycle - from onboarding to offboarding.
In this role, you'll build scalable HR processes in a high-growth environment, proactively improve people programs, and serve as a trusted resource for employees. About the role
As a People Operations Manager, you will be a foundational member of our People team, driving the execution of HR operations, policies, and programs that enhance employee experience and enable our team to thrive. You'll collaborate closely with the leadership team to ensure smooth and effective people operations across the entire employee lifecycle - from onboarding to offboarding.

Responsibilities:
HR Operations & Employee Experiences
- Act as the first point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries, providing guidance, escalating issues as needed, and ensuring a responsive and positive employee experience.
- Own and optimize key HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Maintain HR systems, records, and compliance documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Manage and continuously improve the onboarding experience to ensure new hires feel welcomed, informed, and set up for success.
- Conduct I-9 verifications, system access setup, and new hire orientation.
- Lead exit processes, including offboarding documentation, system deactivations, and exit interviews to gather actionable insights.
Employee Benefits & Leave Administration
- Oversee benefits administration, including open enrollment, benefits education, and resolving employee inquiries.
- Manage and process all leave of absence requests, including FMLA, STD, LTD, parental leave, and other leave programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
HR Compliance & Policy Implementation
- Ensure Sesame's HR policies and practices comply with local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Partner with legal and finance teams to update and enforce workplace policies and handbook revisions as needed.
- Stay current with evolving HR regulations and best practices, proactively mitigating risk.
HR Systems & Data Management
- Serve as the subject matter expert and administrator for our HR tech stack (Rippling PEO preferred), optimizing workflows and reporting.
- Leverage HR data to identify workforce trends, improve operational efficiency, and inform strategic decision-making.
- Generate reports on key HR metrics such as attrition, engagement, and workforce planning.
Payroll & Compensation Support
- Work closely with the Payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Assist in compensation benchmarking and salary adjustments, ensuring fair and competitive pay practices.
Required qualifications:
- 6-8 years of HR experience, preferably in a fast-paced or startup environment.
- Strong service and delivery.
- Experience working in a high-growth and fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
