Tesla's Audio Team is looking for a Test Engineer for Audio DSP integration. Join the talented team that is responsible for ensuring a world class audiophile experience in Tesla cars, validating Tesla's firmware releases for audio quality on fast paced software development release cycles. The ideal candidate combines excellent software testing and audio listening skills with strong automation scripting knowledge, experience validating speech recognition systems, as well as a passion for electric vehicles.

Responsibilities
- Validate changes to audio hardware, DSP algorithms, and software
- Plan and execute regression testing for software releases
- Conduct black box testing to break the system and discover edge cases
- Communicate with developers to proactively identify problems and gaps in test coverage and documentation
- Develop detailed test plans and reports to validate Tesla's audio software stack, hardware and audio quality on vehicle
- Triage and investigate issues reported by customers in the field, fleet test engineers, and targeted testing
- Find and reproduce audio DSP bugs through manual testing, automated scripting, and bug report investigation
- Develop scripts to reproduce audio issues or stress test the audio system
- Coordinate test resources and test assignment for release validation
- Track test coverage for sign-off of hardware and software milestones
Requirements
- 5+ years Software Testing experience
- Fluency with Linux/UNIX command line utilities, bash scripting
- Experience with bug and test suite tracking systems, e.g. JIRA
- Understanding of revision control software (SVN, GIT, etc.)
- Ability to hear digital audio artifacts, localize and physical acoustic defects
- Highly detail oriented and well organized
- Inventiveness to discover and execute various corner cases or methods to break the system
- Excellent communications skills to produce clear test documentation and reports
- Valid driver's license required to drive passenger vehicles in the US for in vehicle testing

$80,000 - $174,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
