Position Summary:

The FP&A G&A Manager will be a key financial leader supporting all General & Administrative (G&A) functions, including Finance, HR, Legal, IT, and Facilities. This role will drive financial strategy, provide in-depth analysis, and lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for G&A functions. Reporting directly to the Director of FP&A for SG&A, the successful candidate will be a proactive, strategic, and highly skilled finance professional capable of leading cross-functional initiatives and delivering actionable insights to senior leadership. This is a highly visible and impactful role requiring advanced leadership and management capabilities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead and own the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for all G&A functions, ensuring alignment with corporate financial objectives, driving accountability, and ensuring financial discipline across the functions.
  • Serve as the primary strategic finance partner to senior leadership across all G&A departments, advising on key decisions, identifying opportunities for cost optimization, and influencing resource allocation to drive operational efficiency and support company growth.
  • Own the preparation and delivery of comprehensive monthly and quarterly financial reports to executive leadership, analyzing variances between budget and actual performance, and proactively recommending corrective actions and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor and manage key G&A financial metrics, including operating expenses, headcount planning, and other critical cost drivers, ensuring effective use of resources and alignment with company financial targets.
  • Lead long-term financial planning efforts by developing multi-year plans, scenario modeling, and identifying G&A investment opportunities aligned with the company's strategic growth initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting and FP&A processes, including streamlining Workday Adaptive Planning models, improving financial forecasting accuracy, and enhancing cross-departmental collaboration to ensure timely and effective decision-making.
  • Perform sophisticated financial analysis to support executive decision-making, cost optimization strategies, and strategic business initiatives, ensuring the financial impact of decisions is understood and managed effectively.
  • Provide thought leadership in the development of key financial processes, driving best practices and innovation in financial reporting, modeling, and forecasting methodologies within G&A functions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with senior management and department heads to ensure financial strategies are aligned with business needs and long-term company objectives.


Education and Experience:

These may include but are not limited to:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of progressive FP&A experience in a complex, high-growth environment (preferably in biotech, pharma, or similar industries).
  • Professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is highly preferred.
  • Extensive experience in G&A or SG&A FP&A is strongly desired, with a demonstrated ability to lead financial strategies across multiple departments.
  • Advanced expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making to support complex business needs.
  • Proficiency with Workday Adaptive Planning, or similar FP&A tools, with a proven track record of leveraging these systems to improve reporting and financial planning processes.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to engage and influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of financial drivers and the ability to translate data into actionable insights to optimize business operations and improve financial performance.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects, lead cross-functional teams, and drive results in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. Laboratory Activities (if applicable): Biology and chemical laboratory environment experience needed. Environmental health and safety requirements also apply.

Travel:

You may be required to travel for up to 5% of your time.

The Anticipated Base Salary Range: $116,000-$144,000

In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
