Our Pediatric Associates of Sidney, Ohio office is looking to hire a new Nurse Practitioner to join its growing team of 2 physicians and 3 NPs. This Busy and growing community-based practice boasts a robust clinical and support care team with management of a newborn nursery.

The APP will practice to the full extent of his or her licensure and education under direction of the division chief and in collaboration with the service line director. During day-to-day operations there will be general clinical collaboration by the pediatrician in the practice team. The APP serves as a clinical provider who utilizes his or her knowledge and procedural skills obtained from advanced formal education and clinical experience to promote optimum care of patients and families with acute and chronic issues. The APP with the support of the practice care team will use these skills to develop long standing relationships with families to provide well care, developmental surveillance, appropriate counselling on vaccines, mental health screenings, evaluations for acute illness, and management of chronic conditions. The APP sees patients from birth to 21 years of age. As an active member of the care team the APP will be expected to work together with the team to meet the needs of the patients, this includes evening, weekend, and after hours "on call" responsibilities.
In addition to the outpatient pediatric practice duties, the APP will be responsible for participating in a rounding and call rotation for the level one newborn nursery. This responsibility will include attending high risk deliveries as pediatric stand-by, stabilizing neonates in distress, intubations, and appropriate transfer of neonates when warranted. The APP will be responsible for learning and the proficiency of circumcisions in the newborn nursery. The APP will need to be NRP certified. These rotations and responsibilities are in collaboration with the Dayton Children's Hospital NICU team and physicians.

Additional APP activities will include professional and staff development, quality improvement research, and primary care-based research initiatives. The APP acts as a voice of the patient/family within the health systems to advocate for the medical needs of the patient and family.
