Position Summary

The Universityof New Mexico, School of Medicine, Neurology Department seeks a qualifiedNeurologist for epilepsy and neuro-hospitalist service lines.

The successful candidate will joina multidisciplinary group of neurology faculty in providing quality patientcare in the inpatient neuro-hospitalist service and epilepsy consult andservice at UNM Hospital. Additionally,the position will assume on-call responsibilities for adult clinical serviceswith fellow providers.

Academic responsibilities includeparticipation in teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows andresearch activities of the department.

UNM Hospital is the tertiary care center for the Stateand the only Primary Advanced Stroke Center, dedicated neuroscience criticalcare unit, Comprehensive Movement Disorders Center, NAEC level 4 epilepsycenter, and ALS / MDA center in the State. The Department of Neurology has 30 plusfull-time and part-time attending physicians and is home to well-establishedResidency and multiple Fellowship programs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MDdegree or equivalent
  • Boardeligible or certified in Neurology
  • Boardeligible or certified in epilepsy and experience in neurohospitalist servicelines
  • Eligibleto work in the United States

PreferredQualifications:

  • 2-3years of clinical experience in neurological care
  • Ademonstrated commitment to student success and working with broadly diversecommunities
