How You Will Contribute:

As a Test Development Engineer at Ciena, your primary responsibility will be to design and implement production test solutions to be used by an ATE tester engineer. You will play a role in developing our analog and support digital circuits for our Wavelogic product line. Your tasks will include developing and maintaining the digital test environment infrastructure, utilizing a combination of C and SystemVerilog code, and collaborating with chip prime, test development architect, and external test house.

This position requires a strong blend of hardware and software skills to create high-quality test programs for cutting-edge ASICs. Your ability to write code and build test cases, innovate, automate tests for integrated circuits (ICs), and troubleshoot issues will be essential in the production of our Wavelogic ASICs.

As a Test development Engineer your responsibilities and tasks will include:
  • Collaborating with analog designers, digital designers, and analog DFT advisors to create a verification plan.
  • Developing reliable test cases, scripts, and programs for package and wafer testing based on analog specifications.
  • Debugging and troubleshooting test failures to identify root causes.
  • Optimizing test solutions to improve yield and reduce test time.
  • Assisting the test house in validating imported test cases on the ATE.
  • Working with digital and analog design primes, digital verification primes, and senior DFT advisor to validate on-die test infrastructure and develop test cases.
  • Building and automating workflows through scripting for increased productivity.
  • Contributing to production test yield optimization.
  • Participating in test data analysis to ensure accurate and repeatable test coverage.
  • Developing test automation frameworks and scripts for efficiency.
  • Participating in design reviews and providing testability feedback.
  • Staying updated with emerging testing technologies and methodologies.
  • Assisting in the development and release of ATE test programs for mass production.
  • Coordinating and delivering concise status reports at various stages of development.

The Must haves:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering coupled with experience in the use of System Verilog, UVM, SVA, C/C++ and simulators from major vendors.
  • Knowledge of digital and analog DAC/ADC/PLL test techniques.
  • Practical experience developing scripts to automate tasks.
  • Knowledge of high-speed and mixed-signal ASICs
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to Multitask among multiple projects.


Assets:
  • Knowledge of Integrated Circuit testing on ATE platforms such as the Advantest V93000
  • Using Jira for bug tracking and GIT for source code management and revision tracking
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as: Python, Make, bash, object-oriented programming, C, C++.


Pay Range:

The annual pay range for this position is $100,900 - $161,100.

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
