OrthoCarolina is seeking a qualified professional to join our Human Resources team as a Senior Manager, Total Rewards.

This individual will lead a team of benefits, compensation and wellness professionals who execute and administer OrthoCarolina' s Total Rewards Plan. They will develop, recommend and implement approved, new or modified plans and Team Member benefits policies and supervise administration of existing plans.

Essential Functions:
  • Successfully define strategy and oversee the administration of OC health and welfare programs including medical, Rx and stop loss; dental; vision; life & disability, FMLA administration; FSA; COBRA; open enrollment; eligibility.
  • Manage, direct and oversee the work of the Total Rewards team.
  • Ensure compensation, benefits and wellness plans are administered consistently with strategic goals.
  • Implement approved new plans and changes by preparing announcement material, booklets, and other media for communicating new plans to team members. Conducts team member meetings and arranges for enrollment of team members in plans. Conduct team member benefit seminars. Revise and reissue all communications material on benefits. Counsel team members on existing benefits.
  • Manages the annual open enrollment process for all benefit plans and conducts team member meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements including ACA reporting (1095, eligibility tracking, SBC), Form 5500's, plan audits, fiduciary, plan documents, appeals process, etc.
  • Oversee the development of RFIs and RFPs for brokers and vendors and works closely with vendors and/or third-party administrators (TPA) for best benefit plan options.
  • Advise and counsel senior leadership and team members on existing benefits and assist in resolving their benefits questions/discrepancies, etc.
  • Ensure programs meet team members' needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost effective.


Skills and Abilities:
  • Proven track record leading and implementing large-scale change management initiatives related to compensation, benefits, or rewards modernization
  • In-depth knowledge and experience managing compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements related to compensation and benefits in different markets
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting team member benefit programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, SECTION 125, Workers Compensation, Medicare, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze information and make solid recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio.
  • Innovative with the ability to excel in a fast paced, growth-orientated and time-critical environment.


Qualifications/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or related field of study. Years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of seven years' experience, specifically with benefits strategy management and administration.
  • Leading and implementing large-scale change management initiatives related to compensation, benefits, or rewards modernization.
  • HR technology and systems (Workday), particularly in managing compensation and benefits modules to streamline processes.
  • Managing budgets and financial forecasting related to compensation and benefits.

At least one of the following:
  • Certified Team member Benefits Specialist (CEBS)
  • Society Human Resource Management's (SHRM) Certified Professional (CP) certification
  • Human Resource Certification Institute's (HRCI) Professional Human Resource (PHR) or Sr. Professional Human Resource Professional (SPHR) certification
