Highland Homes is currently accepting resumes for a Senior Associate in Land Finance. The Senior Associate position reports directly to the Director of Capital Markets but will collaborate with key members of the Finance Department including the Manager of Land Finance, VP of Finance, and CFO to support the company's land acquisition and lot development efforts. This role is crucial for supporting the investment underwriting process and full transaction deal flow (contract-to-close) for on-balance sheet and non-traditional financing arrangements for land projects. Representative deals include acquisition/development loans, construction loans, land and lot banking, and joint ventures. The Senior Associate is also expected to contribute to the company in the areas of asset/portfolio management and capital markets research.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with monitoring the project pipeline to assess upcoming financing needs.
- Utilizing Excel-based financial models, underwrite using a set of assumptions for management evaluation, write advanced reference formulas/macros, create sensitivity analyses, conduct stress-testing, and other iterative scenarios for management consideration.
- Provide insightful analysis based on given financial metrics relating to land, development, and construction.
- Abstract and summarize transaction documents, including purchase and sale agreements, lot option contracts, development agreements, operating agreements, and other legal documents.
- Assist company efforts to evaluate, close, and manage project-level debt transactions including land/lot banking, land acquisition and/or development loans, construction loans, and joint ventures.
- Collaborate with colleagues internal and external to Finance Team and assist in the closing process for transactions, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
- Contribute to preparation of investment materials, as necessary, that may include lender presentations, offering memorandums, underwriting memos, and management presentations.
- Organize closed financing transactions and ensure compliance with all loan covenants, performance obligations, and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate internally with accounting, treasury, and operations departments as required.
- Maintain asset and portfolio management tools required for our non-traditionally financed deals (i.e., dashboards, reporting, presentations).
- Document, organize (i.e. checklists), and adhere to the transaction workflow to increase efficiency while maintaining the highest standard of quality and accuracy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, STEM, or related fields
- 3+ years of experience in development, real estate, finance, banking, or capital markets
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills (VBA, macros, and/or programming a plus)
- Adept researcher, able to distill voluminous data into communicable results
- Exceptional quantitative aptitude, highly analytical, creative problem-solver
- Working knowledge of real estate debt capital markets, financing structures, loan agreements, investment management
- Highly organized, strong interpersonal skills, articulate in written and oral communications
- Team player, highly collaborative, positive attitude, works well with people at all levels of the organization
- Self-starter that can work independently without the need of constant supervision
