Senior Process Engineer - Position and Responsibilities


As a Senior Process Engineer with Middough, you will collect and prepare data and information to perform detailed engineering calculations. In this role, you will also perform engineering design and analysis on complex or unique problems and assist in coaching other engineers, designers, and drafters.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Create, review, red-line PIDs and process flow diagrams for projects.

  • Develop process Line Lists for each project stream.

  • Obtain and update Process Conditions for each project stream.

  • Coordinate with Piping team members for Client Pipe Specifications and piping design ideas per project, including flow velocity, viscosity considerations, etc.

  • Coordinate with Instrumentation team members for proper selection of control valves, instruments and analyzers.

  • Coordinate with Mechanical team members for proper specification of mechanical equipment such as tanks, vessels, pumps, etc.

  • Collaborate with other Process Engineers throughout the organization for project completion as needed.


Education, Experience and Skills


The successful candidate will possess the following:


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering discipline required; Chemical Engineering preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering design work.

  • Experience with relief system design.

  • Knowledge of National Standards, such as API, NPFA, etc.

  • Knowledge of Hysys, Aspen, or equivalent software.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

  • Excellent attention to detail; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Safety protections provided by the client and/or company are required to be used and followed.

  • May require occasional car or air travel to other company locations or client sites.

  • This position requires the candidate/employee to possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence and auto insurance coverage.
