Description:
As a Structural Project Engineer (PE) with Middough, you will be responsible for directing a large single discipline or small/medium multi-discipline engineering design team throughout the entire project cycle from initial concept through successful completion. The PE will also manage the organization, control, integration, and completion of a design only project or the design portion of a design/construct project to ensure goals/objectives are met in accordance with the scope, budget, and schedule per the terms of the contract.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate the technical and management interface on assigned projects.
- Develop and monitor project engineering schedules, budgets, and forecasts including Middough Work Process tools.
- Apply technical knowledge and awareness of design details to recognize technical problems in assigned disciplines and initiate appropriate corrective actions as needed.
- Review project/engineering deliverables for compliance with accepted engineering principles, company standards and customer contract specifications.
- Designate responsibilities for phases of a project and establishes scope of authority to the project team.
- Develop and maintain monthly project status reports and execute engineering change authorizations as required.
- Work directly with client to market, scope, estimate and execute single and multi-discipline consulting work on a continuous basis.
- Coordinate and assist with Asset Integrity Inspection projects.
Education, Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil / Structural Engineering required.
- 5+ years of engineering consulting experience preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of contract and liability issues.
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients and all levels within Middough around professionalism, trust, integrity, and collaboration.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and be highly organized for effective project planning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Frequently use up-close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Should not expect adverse environmental conditions within company offices.
- May be exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as climbing ladders and/or stairs, extreme heat and/or cold, and/or poor air quality) if or when on-site at a client facility. Noise levels may be moderate to high at various client sites, hearing protection may be required and/or provided. Safety protections provided by the client and/or company are required to be used and followed.
- If assisting with Asset Integrity projects, the following additional physical requirements may apply when working in client facilities:
- Frequently walk up to and more than 10,000 steps per day, reach with hands and arms, climb several flights of stairs per day, ladder ascending and descending, balance, stoop or kneel, use repeating motions that may include the wrists/hands/fingers and talk and hear.
- Subject to confined space entries and non-confined space work requiring bending, reaching, climbing with inspection tools, harnesses, and lanyards.
- Frequent use of hand tools including but not limited to hammers, wire brushes, tape measures, etc.
- Infrequent lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent lifting up to 10 pounds.
- May require occasional car or air travel to other company locations or client sites.
- This position requires the candidate/employee to possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence and auto insurance coverage.
