Software Engineer III

As a Software Engineer III at CData, you will play a pivotal role in building our flagship cloud product: Connect Cloud. You'll be an integral part of our agile development process, contributing primarily to back-end engineering. You will work with modern technologies in a SaaS platform, developing and designing complex, scalable systems for multi-tenancy. Your expertise will transform technology into user-friendly, functional software.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the team to devise innovative solutions for product design.
  • Design and develop cloud-based multi-tenant SaaS applications using scalable technologies.
  • Design and develop software solutions using Java and Kotlin in a microservice architecture.
  • Engage fully in sprint planning, sizing, and estimating processes, daily stand-up meetings, and retrospectives.
  • Write unit tests and debug code to ensure robustness and reliability.
  • Research & present on technologies applicable to the team.
  • Design for supportability and observability of components.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science from accredited university or equivalent business experience in software engineering.
  • 8+ years experience as a software engineer.
  • Proficiency in modern programming paradigms using Java and Kotlin.
  • Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
  • Experience with multiple databases such as relational databases (MS-SQL, PostgreSQL), document databases (CosmosDB/MongoDB), and ElasticSearch.
  • Experience with cloud providers such as Azure (preferred) and AWS.
  • Experience with observability and APM tools such as DataDog and Grafana.
  • Demonstrated excellence in troubleshooting, debugging, and data performance tuning.
  • Experience in the development of automated unit and integration testing.
  • Familiarity with development tools including IntelliJ/VS Code, Git, Azure DevOps, and Jira.
  • Experience with design concepts such as microservice architecture, RESTful/Web APIs, and general design patterns.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with clear written and verbal communication.
  • Self-motivated, eager learner with creative problem-solving abilities.
