THEROLE IN A NUTSHELL
As a member of the Corporate Development function, the Manager, Transformation will report into the Director, Integration & Transformation on the Enterprise Transformation Office (ETO) team. The Director is responsible for providing oversight and direction on post-merger integration projects and the implementation of strategic partnerships with third parties, as well as developing best practices and playbooks for such projects. The Manager will provide direct support to the Director including, but not limited to, assisting with high-priority project tasks, providing leadership and guidance to project workstreams, and supporting the development of an Enterprise M&A integration playbook.

In addition, the Manager will work closely with GreenShield's line of business leaders and corporate functions, leading multidisciplinary teams through post-acquisition integration activities following an M&A event and ensuring the smooth integration of the people, processes, and technology of acquired companies with GreenShield's different lines of business (i.e., Insurance, Administration, Health). The Manager will be responsible for defining, implementing, and leading cross-functional project governance related to the integration of such acquisitions including, but not limited to, defining workstream structure, executive reporting, project management, synergy tracking, and risk / issue management and escalation.

The Manager will develop a deep understanding of GreenShield's corporate structure to become a trusted partner for senior leadership, the lines of business, and the corporate functions (e.g., Legal, People & Culture, Finance, Marketing, and Technology), ensuring the successful integration of strategic acquisitions in pursuit of GreenShield's overall corporate strategy. The Manager will be responsible for defining and leading multiple initiatives, developing and presenting senior leadership reporting, and facilitating connections between different parts of GreenShield where interdependencies need to be resolved. As a member of the ETO, the Manager may also be required to support other high-impact enterprise projects, such as the assessment, planning, and implementation of strategic partnerships with third-party organizations.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and external stakeholders to develop roadmaps, plans, and other project artifacts to successfully integrate acquisitions and realize the associated business cases (e.g., synergy tracking and management)
  • Support transaction teams with due diligence, transaction execution, Legal Day 1, and integration phases of acquisitions, with an emphasis on leading post-merger integration planning and execution as part of the Integration Management Office
  • Define and lead multiple projects, including project mobilization, charter development, workstream definition, project management, strategy development, and project execution oversight
    Identify risks and issues, support solution development, and track mitigating actions
  • Create senior leadership reporting, including regular status updates, Steering Committee reports, and decision support materials (as required)
  • Apply organizational change management principles to drive project success and change adoption
  • Build relationships with GreenShield's senior leadership, lines of business, and corporate functions
  • Provide guidance and support integration strategy development for both prospective and completed acquisitions
  • Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, evaluation and early-stage implementation planning of strategic partnerships

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 8+ years of management consulting, corporate development, or other strategy experience with an emphasis on M&A integration, corporate partnerships, and / or enterprise transformation initiatives
  • 3+ years of experience working in the Canadian healthcare system, insurance, health benefits, administration, and / or digital health
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale, cross-functional projects while managing ambiguity, interdependencies, and diverse stakeholder groups, including senior leadership teams
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to thoughtfully present, handle inevitable objections, inspire trust, and generate project enthusiasm across all levels of an organization
    Strong ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with periods of peak workload
  • Ability to process significant amounts of complex information and identify connections between disparate areas and issues
  • Team player, flexible, adaptable and willing to contribute wherever required in a small team environment
  • Experience working in a highly-regulated environment, with preference for candidates with exposure to OSFI and provincial regulators
    Solid business acumen, including financial literacy and technology fluency
  • Comfort working at, and switching between, strategic thinking and tactical delivery
  • Ability to anticipate downstream impacts of decisions / actions
  • Ability to lead through influence and facilitation
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field; Master's degree considered an asset

NICE TO HAVE
  • MBA, CPA, CFA or equivalent qualification is considered an asset
  • PMP or other project management certification is considered an asset
  • Prosci or other change management certification is considered an asset
  • Ability to speak and read French is considered an asset
