What You Will Do
The Associate Laboratory Directorate for Weapons Production (ALDWP)'s Weapons Mission Services Division (WMS-DO) is seeking a highly motivated leader for the WMS-3, Programmatic Mission Support Services group. WMS-3 is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive and compliant training programs for ALDWP's programmatic scope, focusing on process-specific training and weapon quality information management systems for end users within ALDWP facilities. The chosen individual will report directly to the WMS Division leader and work together to assure and uphold the integrity of qualification programs and processes for the assigned scope areas. The WMS-3 Group Leader will reside at TA-55, providing direct oversight of the First Line Managers (FLMs), team leaders and staff within various assigned locations, and in the manufacturing and nuclear facility operating environments where local instruction/evaluation are conducted. The Group Leader is responsible for interfacing cross-collaboratively with other groups/stakeholders within the directorate and across the lab. Periodic external interfaces with other DOE laboratories and international counterparts will be required.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Leadership: Demonstrated record of successful leadership and proven ability in supervising, mentoring, motivating employees, and developing personnel. Experience in building consensus amongst teams cross-collaboratively and leading large groups of people with diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge and Expertise: Experience in overseeing training-related scope, schedule, resources and budget. Experience with planning for and managing strategic and tactical execution of work; tracking and reporting progress. Demonstrated experience and subject matter expertise with qualification/certification programs in nuclear and manufacturing/production facilities and associated drivers (e.g. DOE O 426.2, NAP401.1A, DPBiz, etc.). Business systems expertise in one or more areas: Oracle E-Business Suite, UTrain, EDRMS .
Accountability: Demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining formality of operations in a nuclear facility (or comparably complex facility) cold lab environment. Proven ability to exercise conservative, fair judgement when managing and overseeing the work of a team.
Communication: Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills as evidenced by internal and/or external interactions, seminars, briefings, presentations, and publications; effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of personnel and customers. Experience presenting and providing formal tours to internal, external and international stakeholders.
DOE Order 426.2: Requires a bachelor of science degree in engineering or related science, and 4 years nuclear experience. Education or experience that is job related may be substituted on a case-by-case basis. The degree may fulfill 3 of the 4 years of nuclear experience on a one-for-one time basis.
Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 8 years of related experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

- Directing and/or overseeing the execution training events safely, securely, with quality, and in compliance with nuclear and manufacturing facility requirements;
- Effectively applying nuclear and manufacturing facility safety management program expertise (e.g. RadCon, Criticality Safety, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Training, etc.) and/or process-specific knowledge as a subject-matter-expert (SME).
