Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Freeport, TX

The Role:
Responsible for the management, direction and coordination of capital projects at the supported site(s). Managing with an operational excellence philosophy, seeking continuous improvement of site operations as a result of capital project execution.
Duties:
Project Planning & Execution for Effective and Efficient Operation of the supported site(s):
  • Develop, manage and maintain the Capital Budget for the supported site(s), ensuring that priority, schedule and cost goals are met.
  • Portfolio management: Provide accurate capital project reporting and forecasting; develop and maintain the 5 year capital plan for supported site(s)
  • Provide leadership in developing cost estimates & schedules to defined levels of accuracy consistent with project definition.
  • Ensure project success criteria is defined and provide project risk management to address potential shortcomings in project delivery.
  • Ensure specifications for equipment, materials and services are fully defined to deliver project objectives and support the procurement process to identify the vendors who best meet EHS, Technical and cost considerations.
  • Ensure capital project design and construction adhere to established standards, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Manage the allocation of resources to meet the goals and priorities of SI Group and the site.
  • Minimize costs, waste and utilize resources efficiently throughout the site(s).
  • Provide project document handover and validate solution at project closure.
  • Continuous improvement of project management discipline, including lessons learned and the of use of resources, methods and tools to maximize value from project delivery
Excel in Environmental, Health and Safety Performance:
  • Ensure capital project delivery maintains and improve the site's assets to reduce the probability of a major incident at the site.
  • Follow the Management of Change process to ensure appropriate Hazard Identification & Risk Analysis completed as part of capital project execution.
  • With service providers prepare Risk Assessment Method Statements to manage risk of work activities & fully comply with Permit to Work and Cardinal Rules
  • Strive for zero injuries, spills and incidents during project construction activities
People Leadership:
  • Cultivate a more highly skilled, motivated, and effective project organization - including matrix.
  • Manage employee performance, motivating the workforce, attracting, retaining, and developing employees.
  • Identify where other internal or external personnel are required to support the capital plan.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years, preferred 10+ years in production or technical roles in a chemical manufacturing facility
  • Supervisory experience in a business or factory environment.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in using national and international standards
  • Demonstrated project management skills
