The Edwards School of Business at the University of Saskatchewan invites applications from qualified individuals for:
  • two (2) without-term positions at the rank of Lecturer, and
  • one (1) 12-month term position at the rank of Lecturer or Instructor.

All anticipated start dates will be July 1, 2025, in the Department of Accounting.

The ideal candidates will have demonstrated passion for and experience in teaching accounting at the undergraduate and graduate level in a post-secondary institution in Canada and are willing to work in a collaborative, collegial environment where teaching expertise is highly valued.

Qualifications

Consistent with its goal of sustaining business school accreditation (AACSB), the Edwards School of Business will recruit those individuals whose academic training and/or professional activities clearly align with our accreditation standards. Successful candidates will be expected to continue to maintain their faculty qualification accreditation status.

A Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation as well as a graduate degree in business, preferably accounting, is required for appointments at the rank of Lecturer. Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary/professional level is highly desirable. Candidates without a graduate degree in business but with a Canadian CPA designation and significant professional and/or teaching experience will be considered for the 12-month term position and, if successful, will be appointed at the rank of Instructor.

The Department is seeking candidates to teach in its undergraduate and graduate programs (MPAcc and MBA). The successful applicants will thus possess strong comprehensive technical in-depth knowledge of accounting concepts and standards as well as demonstrable effective communication skills. The teaching load for each position will be up to 30 credit hours of courses per academic year (10 courses at 3 credit hours per course). Teaching responsibilities can commence with courses scheduled for the anticipated start date term. Other responsibilities may include, but not limited to, educational leadership, coaching/judging case competitions, participating in department initiatives, representing the department both internally and externally, and administrative service in the department and college.
