The Regional Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations across multiple food manufacturing plants within the designated region. This role involves assisting a team of maintenance professionals to ensure the efficient operation of equipment, machinery, and systems, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food manufacturing maintenance, leadership experience, and the ability to manage multiple locations effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Drive Maintenance Best Practices: Innovate, document, improve work methods, standardize, provide a safe work environment and require safe work practices, train, measure and analyze key performance indicators to improve processes.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability, efficiency, and uptime.
  • Monitor and track maintenance performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance processes and workflows.
  • Collaborate with other departments (production, quality, etc.) to resolve operational challenges.
  • Coach, support and assist Plant Engineering/Maintenance Managers on implementing and sustaining Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Provide frequent on-site monitoring, auditing and enforcement of maintenance execution and best safe work practices.
  • Review and optimize PM programs across the network in collaboration with the plant teams.
  • Define the Maintenance staffing and skill development plan for the plants to ensure that maintenance personnel receive ongoing training and certifications to maintain a skilled and knowledgeable team.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and accountability within the maintenance department.
  • Develop and support asset health matrix to create capital plan requirements.
  • Ensure calibration and consistency of execution of all Maintenance systems, including skills development and assessment, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), breakdown elimination, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
  • Assist with the skills development and assessment program across our plants.
  • Lead evaluation and implementation of Predictive Maintenance (PdM) tools for the plants
  • Partner and leverage other Regional Maintenance Manager to align on overall CHG Maintenance systems.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.


Minimum Job Requirements:

Education/Certifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field (preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in a maintenance management role within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in managing maintenance teams across multiple sites or locations.
  • Formal Maintenance certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) or similar software.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient use of a computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), and other related applications or software.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (FDA, GMP, HACCP) and maintenance best practices.
  • Strong technical background in food manufacturing equipment, HVAC systems, and automation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ability to manage budgets, resources, and projects effectively.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • N/A


Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
  • Primarily office-based, but regular presence in the plant is required to interact with plant operations, leadership, and staff. You may be required to visit different areas of the plant to observe operations and gather data where you will be exposed to unusual elements (dirt, dust, fumes, odors, noise).
  • Must be able to lift up and carry 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be willing to travel between plant locations within the region as required.
