Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Director, Co-op Ethanol Complex (CEC) on a permanent basis to lead our CEC team located in Belle Plaine, SK.

Who you'll work with:
The Team: You will have 4 managers plus a Senior Plant Engineer, Controller, and Health & Safety Advisor as direct reports along with over 30 indirect reports including positions such as Logistics Clerks, Material Handlers, Millwrights, Electricians, Power Engineers, etc.
The Collaborators: You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to grow and maintain collaborative relationships. Internally, you will work with groups such as our Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC), the Energy & Agriculture business unit, and the Health, Safety, & Compliance business unit. Externally, you will remain engaged with provincial and federal government agencies, community and industry groups, etc.
Why it matters:
We help grow Western Canadian communities through our commitment to purchase local grain and starch inputs to produce ethanol and dried distillers grain (DDG). We use the ethanol to support a lower carbon economy in Western Canada.

What you'll do:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the Co-op Ethanol Complex, ensuring safe and reliable production, efficient use of resources, and alignment with operational goals to meet business outcomes.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Lead the site's safety programs, ensuring compliance with local, provincial, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations, while fostering a strong safety culture and managing emergency preparedness.
- Strategic Direction: Set and execute the strategic vision for the CEC in collaboration with senior leadership, aligning the facility's goals with broader organizational priorities and market competitiveness.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive operational enhancements through the adoption of innovative work processes and techniques, collaborating with key stakeholders to improve performance and financial sustainability.
- Budget and Financial Management: Develop and manage the annual operational and capital budgets, ensuring cost control, meeting production targets, and overseeing procurement to maintain a reliable ethanol supply.
- Leadership & Relationship Building: Provide leadership in team development, including recruitment, performance management, and career advancement, while maintaining positive relationships with employees, stakeholders, and customers to support organizational goals.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in operations leadership and:
- Have 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. Experience maintaining heavy industrial equipment managing medium to large size projects is required.
- Have experience in leadership roles where you've been responsible for driving engagement, vision, and innovation.
- Have a bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or commerce. Advanced training in leadership, finance, or Incident Command Training would be an asset (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
- Have a fundamental understanding of ethanol production and/or oil and gas processing technology and ideally, distillation.
