What will I do in this role with Maple Farm?
As a Director of Nursing, supporting the Garden Spot Communities' mission will include the following responsibilities:
- Assume accountability for the development, organization and implementation of approved policies and procedures.
- Oversee all resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary.
- Assess resident care needs and assist in the development of individualized plans of resident care.
- Assume responsibility for the management and monitoring of the Minimum Data Set (MDS), clinically and related to the prospective payment System (PPS).
- Assess resident pre-admission and/or admission information and determine appropriate level of care.
- Analyze Quality Indicator reports, identify concerns and implement corrective action to improve resident care.
- Report problems to Administrator, conduct daily resident rounds and initiate corrective actions.
- Direct and implement nursing service educational programs including, but not limited to, orientation and in-service for licensed and unlicensed nursing personnel.
- Conduct staff meetings with all shifts for purposes of planning, coordinating and implementing nursing service policies and procedures.
- Direct and supervise scheduling of employees within established guidelines for allocation of nursing service personnel on duty.
- Conduct interviews, hire nursing service employees, conduct counseling interviews and initiate disciplinary action as necessary.
- Prepare written employee performance evaluations and initiate recommendations for salary increases, promotions and terminations.
- Communicate daily with nursing personnel providing clear, concise information as well as specific assignments.
What do I need for this role with Maple Farm?
- Current and valid RN license in PA
- At least one year experience or education in Nursing Administration or Supervision
- At least three years' experience in Long Term Care.
- Knowledge of Long Term Care regulations
- Ability to cope with stress of changing and unexpected situations.
- Must have analytical ability in identifying and solving problems.
- Understands management, delegation and motivation of people.
- Strong judgement and leadership skills
- Can identify and promote the Mission, Philosophy, Corporate Values and Goals of Garden Spot Village.
